To be accepted in vocational training in Qu\u00e9bec, you must meet four (4) admission requirements, which are age, knowledge of the language of instruction, academic prerequisites and financial capacity.<\/p>\r\n
If you do not meet all of the requirements, but you believe that you will be able to meet them by the next twelve (12) months, you can still begin your registration. However, your file will only be analyzed once completed and that all required documents will have been uploaded.<\/p>\r\n
N.B. : Beyond admission requirements, you do not need to have any specific skills or training-related experience to be eligible.<\/p>\r\n
Age<\/p>\r\n
You must be 17 years old when you arrive in Qu\u00e9bec. There is no age limit to study in vocational training.<\/p>\r\n
Language<\/p>\r\n
If you choose a training program in\u202fEnglish:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n To be eligible for\u202fan English-language training program<\/strong>, you must demonstrate a\u202fB2 level of\u202fEnglish\u202f<\/strong>(level 7 on the Qu\u00e9bec scale) in\u202feach of the four\u202fassessed\u202fskills<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n Only individuals who\u202fhold a\u202funiversity degree of at least three years\u202f<\/strong>where the language of instruction was\u202fEnglish\u202fmay be exempt from this requirement.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Mandatory\u202fEnglish\u202fTest<\/strong><\/p>\r\n You must provide the results of an\u202fofficial\u202fEnglish\u202flanguage<\/strong> test\u202fassessing the following four skills:<\/p>\r\n\r\n Accepted tests:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n You must achieve a\u202fB2 level in each skill<\/strong>. Tests that assess only two skills will not be accepted.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Please note that the\u202ftraining center may require a higher score\u202f<\/strong>or a specific test. Be sure to check the requirements of your chosen program and training center.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Taking the\u202fEnglish\u202fTest During the Support Process<\/strong><\/p>\r\n You may register for Qu\u00e9bec m\u00e9tiers d\u2019avenir\u2019s support services\u202fbefore\u202f<\/strong>obtaining a valid\u202fFrench\u202ftest result. However, you must be ready to take a test when invited to do so.\r\nThis step is\u202fmandatory\u202f<\/strong>before Qu\u00e9bec m\u00e9tiers d\u2019avenir can submit any admission application for a Training Program in\u202fFrench\u202fon your behalf.<\/p>\r\n \u26a0\ufe0f\u202fOnly\u202fone eligible test attempt<\/strong>\u202fis allowed. If your results do not meet the required level, your support process will be terminated.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Possible Exemptions<\/strong><\/p>\r\n You may be exempt from taking\u202fan\u202fEnglish\u202ftest if you hold a\u202funiversity degree of at least<\/strong> three years\u202fwhere the language of instruction was\u202fEnglish. You must provide your diploma and transcripts. An official letter confirming the language of instruction may also be required.\u202f<\/em><\/p>\r\n \r\n If You Choose a Training Program in French:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n \r\n If your training program is\u202foffered\u202fin\u202fFrench<\/strong>, you must still demonstrate a\u202fB2 level of\u202fFrench\u202f<\/strong>proficiency.<\/p>\r\n \r\n You may choose one of the following\u202fofficial French tests:<\/strong>\u202fTEF, TCF, TEFAQ, BRIGHTLANGUAGE, or the\u202fTest de fran\u00e7ais en ligne\u202f(TFL).<\/p>\r\n \r\n Make sure your test results clearly demonstrate a\u202fB2 level or higher in all four skills\u202f<\/strong>(listening, reading, speaking, and writing).<\/p>\r\n \r\n If needed, you may choose the\u202fTest de fran\u00e7ais en ligne\u202f(TFL), offered by Qu\u00e9bec m\u00e9tiers d\u2019avenir and recognized by Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s school service centers. You can register for this test during the support process.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Taking the French Test During the Support Process<\/strong><\/p>\r\n You may register for Qu\u00e9bec m\u00e9tiers d\u2019avenir\u2019s support services\u202fbefore<\/strong>\u202fobtaining a valid English test result. Please consult the page of the chosen training program to find out the educational level required to be admitted.<\/p>\r\n Financial capacity<\/p>\r\n Upon registration, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient financial resources to cover BOTH tuition fees and living expenses.<\/p>\r\n Tuition fees<\/strong><\/p>\r\n These fees include tuition fees as well as related costs such as school supplies and equipment. They vary depending on the program and the selected educational institution.<\/p>\r\n The amount intended to cover tuition fees must be available at the time of registration. It can be proven through savings or any other funds available to you and\/or a financial guarantor.<\/p>\r\n Accepted documents as proof of financial capacity for tuition fees<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n Please note that French citizens are exempt from tuition fees due to an agreement between Qu\u00e9bec and France. However, they are still required to pay the related fees.<\/p>\r\n Living expenses<\/strong><\/p>\r\n These expenses include the essential costs of daily life for one year, such as housing, food, clothing, transportation, and health insurance, depending on your family situation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n The required amount to cover these expenses can be demonstrated through savings already available at the time of registration and\/or monthly income received during the course of your study. The funds may come from you and\/or from a person acting as a financial guarantor for your project.<\/p>\r\n Examples of accepted documents as proof of financial capacity for living expenses<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n Clarifications regarding financial capacity<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Bank statement and bank letter<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Bank statements and the accompanying bank letter must include the account holder\u2019s name as well as the name and contact information of the financial institution. Screenshots of transaction history are not valid; you must submit official account statements issued by your bank.<\/p>\r\n Line of credit and investments<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Available credit and investments may be accepted as proof of funds if the money is immediately accessible. You must provide documentation confirming this, in addition to bank statements from the past 3 months and the bank letter.<\/p>\r\n A person acting as your financial guarantor<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Guarantor<\/strong><\/p>\r\n You may have up to two financial guarantors. A guarantor does not need to be a family member, but in such cases, they must write a letter explaining their reasons for supporting you financially in your study project. They must also provide details of the financial support they will offer.<\/p>\r\n Demonstrate the eligible income and savings of a guarantor<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The guarantor\u2019s employment income must be supported by pay stubs from the last three months, along with a recent letter from their employer confirming the salary amount and the employment start date.<\/p>\r\n Other sources of income\u2014such as rental income, pensions, or any other form of regular earnings\u2014may also be considered, provided they are clearly documented (e.g., rental agreements, bank statements) and demonstrate stability.<\/p>\r\n The guarantor\u2019s personal savings may also be taken into account, as long as they are readily available and duly supported by official documents (e.g., bank account statements, investment certificates).<\/p>\r\n To account for the guarantor\u2019s personal needs, an amount of $18,000 will be deducted from their annual income and\/or savings. Only the portion exceeding this threshold will be considered as available to support the study project.<\/p>\r\n Financial Support Declaration Form<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The Financial Support Declaration Form must be completed and signed by your guarantor. Please note that this document is required even if the guarantor is your spouse or partner.<\/p>\r\n Inadmissible proofs<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Student employment<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The expectation of holding a student job in Qu\u00e9bec is not considered valid proof of financial capacity.<\/p>\r\n Property assets<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Titles to land, real estate, or vehicles are not accepted as proof of financial capacity. However, they may be useful during your immigration procedures.<\/p>\r\n Business Income<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Business financial statements or business income are not accepted.
