{"id":5389,"date":"2018-06-12T21:57:44","date_gmt":"2018-06-12T20:57:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/144.217.151.79\/?page_id=5389"},"modified":"2019-04-16T16:02:55","modified_gmt":"2019-04-16T15:02:55","slug":"bursaries-ofqj","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.quebecmetiersdavenir.com\/en\/bursaries-ofqj\/","title":{"rendered":"Bursary and tuition fee exemption"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"text bold red\">Office franco-qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois pour la jeunesse (OFQJ) bursary program<\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"text\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ofqj.org\/?calque=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Office franco-qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois pour la jeunesse<\/a> (in French only), in partnership with \u00c9ducation internationale, has set up bursaries of <strong>300 euros<\/strong>\u00a0(only one payment at the beginning of the training) for young people wanting to come to Qu\u00e9bec for vocational training. The purpose of these bursaries is to boost the mobility of French students through vocational training in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"text\">To be eligible for a bursary, the student must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li class=\"text\">Be 18 to 35 years of age and of French nationality.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebecmetiersdavenir.com\/en\/admission-form\/\">Register for vocational training<\/a> on Qu\u00e9bec m\u00e9tiers d\u2019avenir. Indicate in their covering letter why they wish to obtain an OFQJ bursary for vocational training in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"text\">Obtain a letter of acceptance for the program at the Qu\u00e9bec vocational training centre. This document will be sent to you by \u00c9ducation internationale once online admission is complete and the prerequisites validated.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"text\">After receiving these items, the OFQJ will select the bursary recipients and advise them within one month. To receive the bursary, the OFQJ must receive a copy of the airline ticket by email.<\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<h2 class=\"text bold red\">Tuition fee exemption for French nationals<\/h2>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"text\">In accordance with a France-Qu\u00e9bec agreement on education, French vocational training students are exempt from paying tuition fees. However, they are required to pay their related costs, i.e. learning materials for their vocational training program. Visit the page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebecmetiersdavenir.com\/en\/advantages-for-french-nationals\/\">Advantages for French nationals<\/a> to know more about it.<\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<h2 class=\"text bold red\">Merit scholarships and exemption from supplementary tuition fees<\/h2>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"text\">The <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Merit scholarship<\/strong><\/span> program for foreign students taking vocational training allows recipients to benefit from:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li class=\"text\">A merit scholarship covering living expenses for the duration of the program (paid monthly);<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"text\">An exemption from the supplementary fees payable by foreign students;<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"text\">Health insurance protection provided by the R\u00e9gie de l&#8217;assurance maladie du Qu\u00e9bec (RAMQ).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"text\"><strong>Each year, 15 to 20 students are selected for this program and more than 100 applications were received for the final selection.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<p class=\"text\">The program for <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">exemption from supplementary tuition fees<\/span> enables 20 international students<\/strong> in vocational education in Qu\u00e9bec to be exempt from paying supplementary tuition fees.
