General Director of Éducation internationale since February 2022, Ms. van der Knaap has been working for the Cooperative since 2012. She started out as Project Manager and in 2018 was promoted to Director of International Development. During her career at Éducation internationale, through several strategic partnerships, Ms. van der Knaap has had an important role in the growth of the Cooperative’s business and its ability to fulfill its mission. Before arriving at Éducation internationale, she actively contributed to the achievement of project results in the fields of economic development, corporate social responsibility and gender equality within organizations dedicated to international solidarity and social justice. She worked, among others, for SACO-CESO, Oxfam America and Oxfam International in development projects and international cooperation. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from McGill University, and a Master’s degree in International Relations, development concentration, from Laval University. Her professional and personal background brought her to live in Thailand, Honduras, the United-States, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Pierre has more than 20 years of experience as a marketing and communications manager, and in developing new markets. In the various positions he has held in the private and public sectors, he has worked in Canada, Europe and the United States. Pierre earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Université Laval and studied international relations for a year in France at the Institut d’études politiques d’Aix-en-Provence.

After completing her studies in intervention, organization management and intercultural communications, Odile worked for 10 years as an immigration project leader in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. For the last five years, she has been providing support to international students at Éducation internationale. Odile loves to explore different cultures and has travelled to many European and African countries. While living in Québec, she enjoys discovering new restaurants, grocery stores and neighbourhoods that inspire future travels.

Michèle has more than 20 years of experience as an agency marketing and communication manager where she has been able to lead large-scale projects for industrial companies. Then, her wish to give more meaning to her work led her to become guidance counselor and coach. Michèle graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Gestion in Paris and became a certified coach in 2016.

After completing a graduate degree at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec and studying for a bachelor’s degree in teaching Spanish in secondary school, Diane worked for nearly 15 years with newcomers to Quebec City. As a result, she is very familiar with immigration issues. Passionate about world music and languages, she spends her free time learning guitar and Portuguese.
