TRAINING
DESCRIPTION

This program trains machinists to machine metal parts using machine tools and to ensure quality. Machinists work mainly in the aerospace, food, construction and pharmaceutical industries.

Duration : 1 800 Hours

IMPORTANT: This training program is eligible for the PGWP according to the current IRCC list.
NOTE: This list may change with the scheduled update in 2026.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Prevent health and safety risks.
Solve mathematical problems related to performing machining tasks on conventional and numerical control machine tools.
Interpret technical drawings.
Prepare sketches, readings and measurements and perform machining task on conventional machine tools by doing shop work, carrying out turning, milling and reaming operations, and tooling simple, complex and mass-produced parts.
Develop the skills required to manually program and machine simple parts using a lathe and a numerical control machining centre.
Actively work as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Seamlessly integrate into the school and work environments.
