
Masonry: bricklaying
Bricklaying program trains students to use bricks, concrete blocks, stone, structural tiles and other materials to construct or repair walls, foundations and other structures. They learn to prepare surfaces to be covered and mix ingredients needed, like mortar or cement. Students explore a variety of residential and commercial work including restoring damaged brick work, putting up ornamental or retaining walls and constructing brick driveways, patios, and chimneys.
