Pharmacy technical assistance
During this training, you will learn to assist pharmacists in tasks related to the medication circuit. You will process prescriptions and requests, package medications, perform sterile and non-sterile compounding, perform dispensing and distribution activities and more. In the course of their work, pharmacy technicians use computer equipment, pharmacy application software, automated and specialized equipment, and various technologies to perform the various tasks associated with the medication circuit. The performance of these duties requires interpersonal communication and teamwork skills in an interprofessional setting. PTAs must also ensure the prevention of infection and contamination as well as health, safety and environmental hazards. To do so, they must comply with the laws, regulations and standards in effect.
