Reprocessing of Medical Devices
As part of their professional activities, medical device reprocessors (MDRPs) perform prescribed steps to reprocess medical devices (instruments, appliances, devices or other items) at risk of contamination by microorganisms, in preparation for their reuse. These people work within a regulatory framework and standards. They mainly work in the health and social services network, where there are medical device reprocessing units and satellite reprocessing units, but also in large medical clinics, such as specialized medical centers.
