DISCOVER THE MONTRÉAL REGION

With a population of almost 2 million, the Montréal region is Québec’s most populated area. An economic driver of the province, it is known for its cultural diversity and artistic and cultural vitality. Its highly diversified economy offers solid prospects for employment.

THINGS TO DO AND SEE

Mount Royal Park, located in the heart of the city, has a large network of walking trails and stairs. Lookouts offer spectacular views of the city and region.

Saint Joseph’s Oratory, for its magnificent gardens, organ recitals and carillon, and for its many exhibitions.

In summer and winter, Montréal has over 130 festivals and events such as the Festival international de jazz, the Francofolies, the International des feux Loto-Québec fireworks competition, and more.

The Olympic Park offers many activities, such as the Tower, the Biodôme and the Planetarium, the Botanical Garden (second largest in the world) and the Insectarium.

On the river, Jean-Drapeau park (Parc Jean-Drapeau) offers many annual events, including the city’s snowfest, the Fête des Neiges de Montréal. It is also home to the amusement park La Ronde.

In the summer, watch the Formula 1 race on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve racetrack.
